Millions of pilgrims visit the holy Sites in Jerusalem and light candles as a means of connecting with the pine. These candles help us bring the light of God forth to shine in the darkness of the world, and in the darkness of our hearts and minds. We would like to offer you this same opportunity. Send your prayer and light a candle at holy sites in the Holy City of Jerusalem. Father Ladislow, of the Church of Visitation, performs the benediction for each candle.
At Jerusalem Dot Com we believe that spirituality goes hand in hand with giving. We work with several Jerusalem charities. With each candle you light, a donation will be given on your behalf to help people in need in the Holy City.
Christ said: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
Now, as in days of St. Helen, pilgrims wend their way up the Via Dolorosa, following the path that Jesus took to meet his crucifixion, treading on stones worn smooth by centuries of pilgrimages. When they reach the final station, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, they light a candle and bring light into the world, illuminating the darkness of our hearts and minds. Light a candle right here, in the Holy City, where Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring forth the pine light into the world.
